Yōko Nogiwa was born on January 24, 1936, in her birthplace, Tsubata, Ishikawa, Japan. Her age was 81 years old at the time of her death. However, there is no information about her family members and relatives.

In 2016, while she was filming “Yasuragi no Sato,” her cancer reappeared. Despite her health state continuing to get worse, she shot the drama till May 7, 2017. The following day, she was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. But after that, she was unable to fully recover and passed away on June 13, 2017.

Yōko was a well-known Japanese actress by profession. She began working as an announcer for NHK in 1958 after earning her degree from the university. She was given the responsibility of running the women’s programs and the weather at the Nagoya broadcasting station.
The next year, she contributed to the reporting of the Isewan Typhoon disaster. Yōko was transferred to the NHK Tokyo Broadcasting Station in 1960, where she once a week moderated the television program “Good Morning Everyone.” She was in charge of three consistent, weekly shows for the following two years.

She left NHK in 1962 and moved on to an advertising firm. Nogiwa decided to host the 15-minute live program “Women’s Senka” on TBS because she was anxious about the lack of clients and thought she wouldn’t get paid. She then became committed to her goal of becoming an actress.
Moreover, the beautiful actress attended school in Paris from February 1966 until March 1967. She became the “first person in Japan to wear a miniskirt.” The actress was cast in the 1968 drama “Key Hunter,” which aired for the following five years with a 30% audience rating. She also wrote the tune for the drama’s theme. Yōko had great success in the 1992 television drama “Zutto Anata ga Sukidatta,” in which she portrayed the mother-in-law. Yōko later joined the cast of TBS dramas like “Double Kitchen,” “Dare ni mo Ienai,” “Sweet Home,” and “Chonana no Yome” regularly.
