In 2004, Yadier Molina was signed by the Cardinals. Finally, he made his debut in the MLB for the Cardinals on 3rd June. In 2005, he struggled with injuries and saw a drop off in his offensive performance in his rookie season.
Later on, he and the Cardinals agreed to a four-year, $15.5 million deal with a club option for a fifth. Thus, it cemented his position as their starting catcher on 14th January 2008.
