Xavior, an 11-year-old boy was reported missing from Montezuma, Iowa, a town of 1,300 people located 70 miles east of Des Moines. He was reported missing that afternoon after he was last seen on Thursday, May 27, 2021. Moreover, he was last seen near his home in the northwestern part of town, wearing a red T-shirt, blue pajama pants, and black high-top shoes, according to Iowa authorities.

Moreover, the young boy lived with his mother in the Spruce Village trailer park. In addition, he was gone by the morning of May 27, and a friend’s mother called authorities later that day to report the boy missing after speaking with Xavior’s worried mother.
In addition, the teenage boy had completed his fourth-grade year at Montezuma Elementary School on May 21 and was off for summer break. Over the next four months, the community raised over $35,000 through vigils, fundraisers, and a benefit concert in the hopes of attracting anyone with information to come forward.
Found the body of Xavior
More than four months later, a farmer tending to his soybean crop in rural Poweshiek County discovered the boy’s remains about four miles away from the Xavior home.

There have been no arrests in connection with the boy’s disappearance and death. The investigation is ongoing, according to Mitch Mortvedt, a spokesperson for the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact DCI or the Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Department.
