Rena worked as a model for Guess Jeans, Pepsi, and L’Oreal before she entered the world of professional wrestling. When her then-husband Mark Mero joined the WWE in 1996, she got her start in the wrestling industry.
Triple H had a gimmick in 1996 where he was escorted to the ring by a new valet every night. Sable followed him to the ring during WrestleMania XII. He was defeated by the Ultimate Warrior in less than a minute and blamed Sable for his defeat. He brutally abused Sable in the interview area until being saved by Mark Mero, who was also making his debut WWE appearance. Sable was on Mark’s corner for the following three years.
