Tyler Boyd is an American professional football wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League. Since 2016, Tyler Boyd has been a member of the team. He has been named Mr. Pennsylvania Football twice, in 2011 and 2012. He was also named First Team All-ACC in 2014 for his remarkable performance.

Career from 2016

Behind veterans A. J. Green and Brandon LaFell, Boyd started the regular season as the third receiver on the depth chart.  He caught two catches for 24 yards from Andy Dalton in the season opener against the New York Jets.

The following week, he had six receptions for 78 yards in a 16–24 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Boyd had a career-high 79 yards on four receptions in Week 6 against the New England Patriots.

In a 16–12 loss to the Buffalo Bills on November 20, 2016, Boyd had six receptions for 54 yards and a one-yard touchdown pass from Dalton for his first career score. He had 54 receptions for 603 receiving yards and one touchdown in his debut season.

Boyd had six receptions for 43 yards in his first four games of the 2017 season. He was forced to miss four games after suffering a knee injury against the Buffalo Bills.  He scored his first receiving touchdown of the season in Week 12 against the Cleveland Browns.

On 4th and 12 with 53 seconds left in Week 17, Boyd caught his third career touchdown, giving the Bengals a 31–27 lead over the Baltimore Ravens.

The Bengals would go on to win the game, eliminating the Ravens from playoff contention for the 2017 season and allowing the Buffalo Bills to secure their first playoff berth since 1999.

After 2018

Boyd had six receptions for 91 yards and a score against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2 of the 2018 season.  Against the Carolina Panthers in Week 3, he recorded six receptions for 132 yards and a score.

In the following game, he had another strong performance, catching 11 passes for 100 yards in a 37–36 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.

Against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6, he had seven receptions for 62 yards and two scores.  In Week 15, he sprained his MCL, and on December 28, 2018, he was placed on injured reserve.

With 76 receptions for 1,028 yards and seven touchdowns, he finished his breakout season as the Bengals’ leading receiver.

Likewise, he signed a four-year, $43 million contract extension with the Bengals on July 23, 2019, keeping him under contract until 2023.

Boyd caught 10 catches for 122 yards in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers, but the Bengals lost 41–17. Boyd caught 10 catches for 123 yards and a score in a 26–23 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5.

Similarly, he caught five passes for 101 yards and a 47-yard touchdown in a 16–10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 12. He had nine catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns in Week 16 against the Miami Dolphins, but the Bengals lost 35–38 in overtime.

2020

Boyd concluded the 2019 season with 90 receptions for 1,046 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.

Boyd caught seven passes for 72 yards and his first receiving touchdown of the season in a 35–30 loss to the Cleveland Browns on Thursday Night Football in Week 2. In a Week 3 tie with the Philadelphia Eagles, he had ten receptions for 125 yards.

Similarly, he has 11 catches for 101 yards and a score in a 37–34 loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 7. He had one reception for 72 yards and a touchdown against the Miami Dolphins in Week 13.

He, on the other hand, was dismissed in the second quarter following a brawl with CB Xavien Howard. Likewise, he concluded the 2020 season with 79 receptions for 841 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
