Tuff Hedeman is an American Former Bull Rider. Tuff Hedeman was able to win the PRCA World Championship three times and the PBR World Championship one time. He later went on to become the ambassador of the Championship Bull Riding organization.
Early Life and Education
Tuff Hedeman was born on March 2, 1963, in El Paso, Texas, USA. He is 60 years old and is under the astrological sign, Pisces. He holds American nationality and his real name is Richard Neale Hedeman.
His father’s name is Red Hedeman and his mother’s name is Clarice Hedeman. He also has a sibling whose name is Gary Hedeman. It does seem that he is very close with his family members. However, he doesn’t talk about his family in front of the camera.
Regarding Hedeman’s educational background and qualifications, he attended a local high school. After graduating from high school he went on to attend Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas.

Career and Professional Life
Tuff Hedeman was able to win many junior rodeos while he was in his youth. He even was able to win the high school rodeo bull riding and All-Around titles in New Mexico in the year 1980.
Then, in the year 1981, he went on to win the team roping title and All Around designation again. At the university he attended, he was a member of the rodeo team, competing in bronc riding, team roping, steer wrestling, and bull riding. Likewise, he even filled his PRCA permit at a single rodeo in 1983 as a Bronc rider.
Hedeman was popular for riding bulls that often had not been ridden and was qualified for eleven National Finals Rodeos (NFRs). And, by the year 1993, he was able to surpass $1 million in career earnings and was able to win 1986, 1989, and 1991 world titles in the PRCA.
Tuff went on to suffer a neck injury at the NFR in the year 1993. Due to the injury, he had to be kept out of the arena for the entire year of 1994. Moreover, he was instrumental in starting the Professional Bull Riders.
He went on to win the PBR World Championship in the year 1995. He was able to win despite an encounter with Bodacious that resulted in numerous broken bones on his face.
In the year 1996, he rarely missed winning a second consecutive PBR world title. He then went on to finish third in the world during the 1997 PBR season. Moreover, Tuff’s last ride was at the PBR Bud Light Cup Series event in Odessa, Texas in the year 1998. He officially retired in the year 1999. He even was leading both the PBR and PRCA World Standings in 1998 at the time of his injury.
Furthermore, Tuff was able to serve as president of the PBR from 1992 to 2004 after his retirement. He also was a commentator for televised PBR events from the year 1999 to 2004.
Also in 2005, he briefly joined the PRCA Xtreme Bulls tour as a sideline reporter for televised events before joining CBR not long after. He even got the opportunity to become president of CBR from 2005 to 2011 and was a commentator for televised CBR events from 2005 to 2008.
Hedeman went on to remain with the said organization as ambassador and chute boss from 2011 to 2018. Then, in early 2018, he left CBR to start his organization: the Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding Tour (THBRT). Moreover, he spends his leisure time at team roping and bull riding events as of now. He even occasionally provides commentary on CBR bull-riding events broadcast on television.

Relationship Status
Tuff Hedeman tied the knot with Tracy Hedeman in the year 1986. His wife is also an American former bull rider. The couple is still together and is very happy in their relationship.
The pair has four children together and two of the oldest’s names are Robert Lane Hedeman and Trevor Neale Hedeman. He lives in Morgan Mill, Texas along with his wife and children.
