Early Life

Tony DeAngelo was born on the 24th of October 1995, in Sewell, New Jersey, the United States. His full name is Anthony “Tony” DeAngelo. He holds US nationality and follows the Christian religion. Additionally, DeAngelo scored a hat trick in a 6-3 victory over the New Jersey Devils on January 9, 2020.

On October 15, 2020, the Rangers signed DeAngelo to a two-year, $9.6 million contract deal. The Rangers placed him on unconditional waivers on July 23, 2021, allowing the club to buy out the remainder of his contract and release him as a free agent.

Carolina Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes signed DeAngelo to a one-year, $1 million contract on July 28, 2021. Philadelphia Flyers

The Hurricanes traded DeAngelo to the Philadelphia Flyers on July 8, 2022, in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Additionally, he became a third-round pick in the 2023 draft and a second-round pick in the 2024 draft. On the same day, he agreed to terms with the Flyers, signing a two-year, $10 million contract.

He was suspended for two games by the NHL Department of Player Safety on March 8, 2023, for spearing Tampa Bay Lightning forward Corey Perry. He was placed on waivers for a buyout on July 14, 2023. As a result, he became the first player in NHL history to be bought out more than once.

Return to Carolina

Following his buyout, DeAngelo signed a one-year contract with the Hurricanes that would expire on July 24, 2023.
