Bekmansurov shot and injured the security guard before entering the university and opening fire on students and professors who were barricaded with furniture to close the interior doors. When police arrived, there was a shootout, and the perpetrator was injured. In the shooting, six people were killed while forty-seven were injured.
Aftermath
His leg was amputated as a result of the wounds he received at the end of his rampage. Moreover, he survived the amputation and kidney failure that followed his severe wounds in the shooting. He is being treated for his injuries before he gets interrogated by police. Following the shooting, his father spoke with the KGB, claiming that his son was obsessed with the internet, spending every waking moment on his computer, even after his father told him to go outside and get some fresh air.

The convict was found guilty by the Perm Regional Court of six counts of murder, attempted murder, as well as an attempt on the life of a police officer and property damage.
