Terrel is a professional former American basketball player. Harris started his professional career in France with Strasbourg IG after being passed over in the 2009 NBA Draft. He signed with the team on August 23, 2009. Harris scored 6.8 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.11 steals, and made 37.5% of his field goal attempts over the course of nine games.
Terrel joined the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League on January 7, 2010, and was later released by the Red Claws in March of that same year. Harris joined the D-League team Rio Grande Valley Vipers towards the end of March 2010. In Germany’s Basketball Bundesliga, He competed for EnBW Ludwigsburg in September and October 2011.

On December 12, 2011, Harris received an invitation to the Miami Heat’s training camp after beginning the 2011–12 campaign with the Vipers. Harris was officially confirmed to have made the Heat’s final roster on December 24, 2011. In a game against the Atlanta Hawks on January 5, 2012, Harris recorded a career-high 14 rebounds in addition to 9 points. In a game against the Memphis Grizzlies on April 6, 2012, Harris scored a career-high 10 points. On June 21, 2012, Harris and the Heat won the NBA championship.

In a three-way transaction that also included the Sacramento Kings, the Pelicans traded Harris and teammate Robin Lopez to the Portland Trail Blazers on July 10, 2013.
