She traveled to Africa with World Vision in 2003 to help children orphaned by AIDS, and she recently traveled to El Salvador for charitable purposes. Her work in Africa resulted in a one-hour show that won a Telly Award.
She was appointed to the Order of Ontario on April 25, 2022, the province’s highest civilian honor, given to an Ontarian who has demonstrated the highest level of excellence and achievement in any field, and whose impact has left a lasting legacy in the province, our country, and abroad.
