Ian is one of the American musical artists. American dubstep artist Ian Slider, better known by the stage name Space Laces, uses sound design extensively in his music. He rose to fame in 2013 as a result of his work on the Destroid project with Excision & Downlink, although he had already established his reputation before he founded Laces as a result of his Newgrounds music releases under the name corn and beans.
Between 2006 and 2013, Ian posted a lot of house and electro music under this moniker. His music was used in a variety of animations and video games, and he received support from many Newgrounds users. The primary menu theme for Castle Crashers Online was also written by Ian.
In 2010, Ian decided that he was sick of being a Newgrounds sensation and that he wanted to break into the commercial electronic music sector. He created the brand name “Space Laces” and made his debut on Houserecordings with the single “Deep Space.”
Following that, Ian received support from several small-time house musicians, including Porter Robinson and Lazy Rich, who assisted in his continued development. The wizard of balls, Space Laces’ second SoundCloud account, which was created at the beginning of 2015 and was exclusively for posting old demos, was also launched at that time. One of these demos was the dubstep song “BUGBASS92” from 2013, which would later be finished in 2016. On the song “Push It Up,” which was included on Excision’s album “Codename X,” he also worked with Excision.
In 2019, Space Laces dropped his track, Phone Tap, and Skrillex began hinting at a collaboration with the artist. Additionally, at the start of 2019, Ian released the Overdrive EP remixes, which included SUDDEN DEATH, Gammer, Phiso, Kompany, and Rickyxsan.
On September 24, 2019, Vaultage 002—which includes new songs as well as collaborations with Garbage Day, AVIDD, and Phiso—was posted on his SoundCloud. It contains additional older tunes including Ctrl+C & Ctrl+V VIP and Slime. D.A.W made history by becoming the first track from a Vaultage mix to receive an official release a little over a month later.
In general, Space Laces remained quiet in 2020, however, Ian published his third Vaultage mix on March 11, 2021. The 20-minute set featured 21 unreleased songs, making it his longest to date. The first track in the mix, Dominate, also saw an official release later that month.
