The group released their first studio album, titled “Deep Sea Skiving,” in 1983. Twelve songs total, including “Really Saying Something,” “Cheers Then,” and “Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye),” are included in the standard version. It was a commercial success, receiving favorable reviews from the reviewers, and debuted at number seven on the UK Albums (OCC) charts.

In addition to “Deep Sea Skiving,” she also contributed to the self-titled album, “True Confessions,” and “Wow!” during her stint with Bananarama.

She left Bananarama in 1988 because she didn’t like how things were going there and started the musical group Shakespears Sister on her own. The band’s name is derived from The Smiths’ song “Shakespeare’s Sister.”

She met Marcy Levy while writing and recording for the act; Levy later joined Shakespeare Sister under the stage name Marcella Detroit.

Shakespeare Sister has released four albums so far, including “Hormonally Yours” (1992), “Sacred Heart” (1989), “#3” (2004), and “Songs from the Red Room” (2009).
