Early Life
Scarlxrd was born on the 19th of June 1994, in Wolverhampton, England. He holds British nationality and his full name is Marius Lucas Antonio Listhrop. Initially, Scarlxrd musical journey as a YouTuber by the name of ‘The MazziMaz’ in April 2012. He started posting singles. Later, he began by recording vlogs at home and uploading them to his YouTube channel. “Ask Maz” was the title of his debut video. After a few days, his video “Epic Fries Challenge” had thousands of views. Throughout his professional career, he has posted several wonderful songs.
Additionally, he collaborated with his fellow YouTubers such as Jake Boys, Sam Pepper, and Casper Lee to promote his YouTube channel. In addition, he is recognized as the ‘super-smiley YouTuber’ by his fans. He went on a comedy music tour around the world from the year 2013 to 2014 and the tour was called ‘The WDGAF Tour.’
Serving as the lead vocalist of ‘Myth City’
In 2014, he started as a lead vocalist and founded ‘Myth City’ which is a nu-metal/rap rock band, and started performing with the band. He started inviting his fans to be a part of his band’s YouTube channel and listen to their music, which was a mix of rap and hard metal.
Meanwhile, the band released their debut EP on the 28th of February 2015. After joining the band, he changed his name from “Maz” to “Scarlcrd.”
In 2016, he released his single “Girlfriend” as ‘Scarlxrd,’ his new, re-branded moniker. Moreover, he released his self-titled album “スカー藩主” in the October of 2016. His second album “Rxse” was released in December 2016.
Continued his successful musical career
In 2017, he released three albums “Cabin Fever,” “Chaxsthecry,” and “Lxrdszn.” Since April 2017, he has been wearing his signature mask in his music videos. Meanwhile, the reason for wearing the mask was, that he wanted to break away from his former ‘YouTuber’ image. Additionally, his mask is inspired by the Japanese manga ‘Tokyo Ghoul.’

He the music video for ‘Chain$aw’ in May 2017. Moreover, he followed up with the music video for “King, Scar” a week later. In 2017, it was also a watershed moment in his career, as he released the music video for his hit tune “Heart Attack.”
The video was released on June 23, of that year, and it became an instant hit. The video has received over 40 million “views” and is his most popular video to date. In September of that year, he released “Lxrdszn,” his fifth album.
Recent musical works
He released his sixth studio album, “Dxxm,” in May 2018 via ‘Island Records,’ a recognized label. Singles from the album included “A BRAINDEAD Civilization” and “We Waste Time FADED.”
He also appeared on ‘Carnage’s’ second studio album, “Battered Bruised & Bloody.” In 2018, he also played at the ‘Reading and Leeds Festivals.’
He announced his seventh studio album, “Infinity,” on March 15, 2019, after releasing singles from mid-2018 to early-2019 in anticipation of a new album, including “Hxw They Judge”, “Berzerk”, “Sx Sad”, and “Head Gxne.” Some of his recent albums include “Dxxm II” (2021), “DeadRising” (2021), and “Acquired Taste: Vxl. 2” (2022).
