Early Life and Childhood
Saswata Chatterjee was born on December 19, 1970, in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. His age is currently 52 years old. He was born to his parents Subhendu Chatterjee (father) and Anjali Chatterjee (mother). His father was also a popular Bengali actor.
According to sources, he also has a brother who is settled in the USA but his details are not disclosed. Likewise, he holds Indian nationality and follows Hinduism as his religion.
As per his birthdate, he was born under the zodiac sign Sagittarius. He began acting after telling his father that he wanted to be an actor. He then joined the theater company founded by his father, Biswarupa, and soon began to receive numerous serial offers, including one from Sandip Ray for the TV show Feluda.

Professionally, Saswata Chatterjee is a TV and film actor. Chatterjee made his acting debut in a Hindi serial based on Samaresh Majumdar’s Kaalpurush and directed by Saibal Mitra. His portrayal of Topshe in the 1996 Bengali film Baksho Rahashya, directed by Sandip Ray, helped him become well-known. Later, he performed as Topshe, Feluda’s sidekick, in a television series under the direction of Sandip Ray. His acting abilities were recognized after this television debut, and he grew in popularity.

Moreover, the acting of Chatterjee in several Bengali movies received positive reviews. Tiyasha, C/O Sir, Proloy (2013), Jekhane Bhuter Bhoy, Meghe Dhaka Tara, Bhooter Bhabishyat, Abar Bomkesh (Chitrachor), Rang Milanti, Byomkesh Bakshi (Adim Ripu), The Bong Connection, and Abar Aranye are just a few of his famous appearances. He participated in the acclaimed 2012 Vidya Balan and Sujoy Ghosh Hindi film Kahaani. He portrayed Bob Biswas, a cold-blooded murderer, in that movie.
