Treem then wrote and co-executive produced the political drama “House of Cards.” Additionally, she co-created the hit Showtime series “The Affair” in 2014. She has continued to write plays in addition to her television work, including Mirror, Mirror, The How and the Why, and When We Were Young and Unafraid.
She signed a multi-year deal with Fox 21 television studios in November 2019 to create and produce series for their network, cable, and streaming platforms. Moreover, she is currently working on a limited series based on the life of actress and inventor Hedy Lamarr, which will star actress Gal Gadot.
Apart from TV writer-producer and playwright, she also teaches on Series Mania Writers’ Campus, with fellow television writer Martie Cook, a week-long intensive on television drama. Previously, she taught at Yale College.

In 2009, Treem won the Writers Guild of America Award through her works in the series “In Treatment.” She won the Golden Globe Award for Best TV Series, Drama, for “The Affair” in 2014. That same year, she won the “Writers Guild of America Award, for” New Series, for House of Cards – with Kate. Similarly, she has been nominated in two “Humanitas Prize” (2008, 2016), and “Primetime Emmy” (2013).
