Ryan Kwanten is a renowned Australian actor and producer. Ryan Kwanten is widely recognized for his roles like Jason Stackhouse in the fantasy horror drama series “True Blood,” and Steve Hammond in the crime drama series “The Oath.”

Ryan Kwanten was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on 28 November 1976. His full name is Ryan Christian Kwanten and he holds Australian nationality. He belongs to the Dutch ethnicity and practices the Roman Catholic religion. According to the astrological chart, he has a sun sign of Sagittarius and is currently 47 years old.

The names of his parent are Eddie Kwanten and Kris Kwanten. By profession, his mother is a Lifeline op shop coordinator and his father is a worker at NSW Maritime. Ryan Kwanten kick-started his acting career through the TV series “The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes” in 1991 as a Stagecoach driver in one episode. After this, he starred in minor roles in various TV series such as “A Country Practice” (1992), “G.P.” (1993-1994), and “Hey Dad..!” (1994).

In the year 1994, he made his film debut, playing the small role of a kid in the Australian crime film “Signal One.” His breakthrough role occurred in 1997 when he joined the ensemble cast of the Australian soap opera “Home and Away” at the age of 21, while still studying at the University of Sydney, and portrayed Vinnie Patterson, a lifeguard.

Moreover, he appeared in the series from 1997 until 2002, and he earned great fame. He departed from the show following a successful five-year run and relocated to Los Angeles, California, in search of brighter pastures.

After a long three months of desperate search, he landed an important role as Jay Robertson on the WB drama series “Summerland” in 2003. He appeared in a total of 26 episodes from 2004 to 2005. After landing his first breakthrough part, he decided to stay in the United States and acquired a southern drawl in his dialogue delivery style.

When he was cast as Jason Stackhouse in HBO’s vampire drama series “True Blood”  in 2008, he got the most notable role of his acting career to date. Ryan rose to international fame as a result of the TV show’s tremendous popularity and appeared in a total of 80 episodes.

His recent movie appearances from 2020 to the present are “2067,” “Expired,” “Section Eight,” and “The Portrait.”
