Early Life

Rosemary Rogers was born on the 7th of December 1932, in Panadura, British Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). At the age of 86 years old, she passed away and held Sri Lankan nationality. According to her birth date, she has a birth sign of Sagittarius while her ethical and religious beliefs are still a mystery.

In addition, she was born to her parents Barbara “Allan” and Cyril Jansz were Dutch-Portuguese settlers who owned several private schools. Rogers was surrounded by servants and protected from much of the outside world.

Rogers began writing at the age of eight and wrote many romantic epics in the style of her favorite writers, Sir Walter Scott, Alexandre Dumas, père, and Rafael Sabatini, throughout her teenage years. Later, she marries Leroy Rogers married in his hometown, St. Louis, Missouri. She and her family relocated to California, where they raised their two sons, Michael and Adam.
Rogers was left to support herself and four children on her salary as a typist for the Solano County Parks Department after her second marriage ended after eight years. Her parents moved in with Rogers the following year, in 1969. Rosemary met Shirlee Busbee in Solano County and became her friend and mentor.
Later, in September 1984, she married poet Christopher Kadison, who was 20 years junior to her. However, it was a short-lived union.
