Early Life
Born on October 14, 1985, Robert is the son of Thomas and Anne-Dillon Costa. Thomas served as an attorney for the pharmaceutical giant Bristol-Myers Squibb.
He was born in Richmond Virginia but later moved to Lower Makefield Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where he grew up with his three siblings. He is 36 years old.

Education
He attended Pennsbury High School where he graduated in 2004. During high school, he stood out for bringing rock musicians such as John Mayer, Eve 6, and Maroon 5 to perform at the school.
Moreover, he also reported on local and professional sports for PHS-TV, the student television station.
After high school, Costa moved to Indiana to study American studies at the University of Notre Dame. Here he produced and hosted an interview program for ND-TV called Office Hours.

Right after graduation, Robert Costa started his professional journey at ‘The Wall Street Journal.’ In the same year, he also worked for the conservative magazine National Review.
Two years later in 2012, he was promoted to the position of Washington editor for the National Review. Meanwhile, he also contributed to CNBC, appearing on The Kudlow Report, and MSNBC.
Costa was great at his work. However, he got major recognition for reporting on the Republican party in Congress during the 2013 United States federal government shutdown.
Back then, The New Republic named him “the most important reporter in the country over the past few weeks”.

In April 2017, after the demise of long-running moderator Gwen Ifill, Costa filled up the spot as the permanent moderator of the long-running Washington Week newsmagazine program on PBS
