At the age of nine, Rider Strong starred as Gavroche in the San Francisco production of “Les Misérables,” alongside Larisa Oleynik as Young Cosette. Later, he played several minor roles in television. He was cast in a recurring role as Julie Andrews’ son in the 1992 sitcom “Julie.” The next year, he landed the role of Amy Irving’s son in the 1993 film “Benefit of Doubt.”

Strong’s big break came when he played Shawn Hunter in the ABC television series “Boy Meets World” in 1993. The series helped him gain immense popularity and recognition. Mover, the sitcom was a huge success, lasting seven seasons until 2000. It also earned Strong several award nominations.
