Rick Carlisle is a former basketball player and a basketball coach. Rick Carlisle is a coach for the Indiana Pacers of the NBA. He also served as head coach of the Detroit Pistons and Dallas Mavericks.
Early life
On October 27, 1959, Rick Oreston Carlisle was born in Ogdensburg, New York. Later, he moved to Lisbon, New York, and spent his teenage years there.

Besides, his performance remained top-notch throughout the tournament. Thus, it scored an average of 12.5 points per game. Later, he was drafted by the Boston Celtics the 70th overall in the NBA Draft.
After the team reached the finals of the ‘NBA Championship’ in 1985, 1986, and 1987. And, also won it in 1986. However, he was seen as mostly a reserve player, during those 3 years.
Rick Carlisle also played briefly for the team Albany Patroons of the ‘Continental Basketball Association, in 1987. Moreover, he was seen playing with the New Jersey Nets and the New York Knicks.

Finally, he earned his first stint as a head coach. He helped his team secure many important victories, in the next 2 seasons. Like, Central Division titles and playoff appearances in both seasons.
Furthermore, he was named the NBA Coach of the Year in 2002. Moreover, he and his team management had their sets of issues that refused to die down. In 2003, the situation ended with Rick getting fired from his position.

He worked as a sports analyst for ESPN, for a few months. It was before getting hired as the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks in 2008. Thus, he led his team to the Western Conference semifinals, in his first season.

In 2000, Rick Carlisle was married to Donna Nobile. He and his wife were blessed with a daughter whose name is not known. Additionally, he is an avid pianist and private pilot. Thus, he has recorded 200 hours of flying by September 2005.
