Initially, Rhona began her career as a model. She was ranked number 46 on the Maxim Hot 100 Women of 2001. In 1995, she made her television debut portraying the role of Cass in “Ghostbusters of East Finchley.”
Later, she acted in the 1996 television series “The Bill” playing the role of Sarah Wickes. Similarly, she appeared as Flora Seymour in the 1997 television miniseries named “The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous.”
That same year, she was featured as the character Lara Croft, the main protagonist of the video game franchise “Tomb Raider.” This, gave her widespread exposure and earned the upcoming model much fame.

In 2004, she portrayed the role of Varinia in the TV miniseries called “Spartacus.” That same year, she appeared in the Canadian thriller film “Highwaymen” as Molly Poole.
In the 2005 third season of the TV show “Nip/Tuck,” she portrayed the role of Kit McGraw. During this period, “Skinwalkers”(2006), “The Number 23” (2007), and “Shooter” (2007).

In the year 2008, she acted in the science fiction action movie “Doomsday” portraying the role of Eden Sinclair. The next year, she played the role of Sonja in the sequel horror movie of Underworld called “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans” replacing Jázmin Dammak from the first film.
In 2010, she appeared in the two series “Stargate Universe” and “The Gates.” That year, she appeared in the film “Reuniting the Rubins” portraying the role of Andie Rubin. In 2012, she appeared in the television film called “Crisis Point” playing the role of Cameron Grainger.
Similarly, she did the regular role of Maj. Rachel Dalton in the action-adventure/spy-drama television series “Strike Back” (2012-2013). She was cast in the main role of Dr. Rachel Scott in the action-drama television series “The Last Ship” from 2014 to 2015.
