Early Life
Regis Prograis was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on the 24th of January 1989. He is 35 years old and comes under the birth sign of Aquarius. In addition, he holds American citizenship and belongs to Louisiana Creole ethnicity.

During his amateur career, Regis Prograis went on to build an 87-7 record. Before going professional in 2012, he was ranked #4 in the United States, the 2009 Ringside World Champion, the 2010 HORN National Champion, the winner of regional Golden Gloves, and competed in the 2012 Olympic Trials.
After going professional in 2012, he fought at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. It was the first primetime boxing event shown on CBS in over 40 years. Prograis beat Terry Flanagan on October 27, 2018, in a World Boxing Super Series super-lightweight quarterfinal.
He scored the fight with scores of 119-108, 118-109, and 117-110. In the semi-finals, he defeated Kiryl Relikh, The Ring’s fourth-ranked super lightweight, to win the WBA super lightweight championship. He remained motivated and defeated his opponent in the sixth round.
Prograis competed in the WBSS super lightweight final against Josh Taylor, the IBF world super lightweight and The Ring champion. However, Taylor won the match by scores of 117-112 and 115-113. One of the judges declared it a tie, 114-114.
Recent Career
On July 22, 2022, WBC light welterweight mandatory title challenger Jose Ramirez was ordered to take on the contender Jose Zepeda for the vacant championship. However, Ramirez withdrew the fight on August 1 showing the reason for a conflict with his wedding in October. As a result, he was replaced by Prograis. Prograis won the match with a knockout in the eleventh round.
Prograis was scheduled to defend his WBC light welterweight championship against Liam Paro in the main event of a DAZN broadcast card on June 17, 2023, in New Orleans’ Smoothie King Center. On May 18, Paro withdrew from the fight owing to injury. Moreover, Danielito Zorrilla replaced him. Prograis maintained the title of champion after a split decision.
On December 10, 2023, he fought against the current undisputed lightweight world champion Devin Haney at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California. He lost the bout against Haney unanimously, giving away the WBC Super Lightweight title.
