The actress was born in 1976, in New York, United States. Her current age is 47 years old. Similarly, Rani holds an American nationality and follows the Christian religion. She is the daughter of her parents, father, Sajit Gupta, and mother, Ja’Net DuBois. Rani grew up together with his three siblings who are Provat Gupta, Kesha Gupta-Fields, and Raj Kristo Gupta.
Unfortunately, Raj Kristo Gupta passed away because of cancer in the year 1987. Also, he was just thirty-six years old at that time. Regarding the actress’s educational background, she went to a high school in New York and later attended a private college. Rani finished her Bachelor’s degree in acting and theatre.

Ja’Net, Danny Glover, and Ayuko Babu together founded the Pan African Film & Arts Festival in Los Angeles in the year 1992.
Then, in 1995, she was the winner of a CableACE award for Best Supporting Actress for her character in the Lifetime film “Other Women’s Children”. In addition, she also was the winner of the Emmy Awards for her voice acting on “The PJs” in the years 1999 and 2001. The actress together with the character of “Good Times” achieved The Impact Icon Award at the 2006 TV Land Awards. In the year 2000, Ja’Net was working as Grand Marshal for the North Amityville Community Parade and Festival Day in Amityville, New York. Then, she was an unofficial part of the Zeta Phi Beta association. Unfortunately, the actress passed away on February 17, 2020, of cardiac arrest at her home in Glendale, California.
