Later, he appeared in the television sitcom series “Taxi.” He played the role of John Burns in the series first season. The series was created by James L. Brooks, Stan Daniels, and David Davis. Despite his success and popularity in the series, his character did not return for the second season.

Post-Taxi career

During the 1970s, he also appeared in stage plays and made-for-television films, as well as guest appearances on other television shows such as “Emergency!,” The Six Million Dollar Man,” and “The Waltons.”

He appeared as the fiancé of “A Girl from West Virginia” (Loni Anderson) in one segment of the two-part 1980 episode of the television series “The Love Boat,” which was filmed in 1979, alongside other guest stars of a similar segment Donny Osmond and Rich Little.

In the 1980 made-for-television film “Detour to Terror,” he played a serial killer.
