Club Career

Ramona Bachmann began her career with FC Malters before moving on to SC Luwin. In 2007, at the age of 16, she turned down offers from Germany and the United States to join the Swedish team Umea IK in the Damallsvenskan.

Bachmann became an important member of the team at Ume after Marta left the organization in 2009. As the first pick in the 2009 WPS International Draft, Bachmann joined the Atlanta Beat, a new Women’s Professional Soccer expansion team, in 2010.

Moreover, Bachmann turned down offers from Germany, England, and the United States to return to Umea for the 2011 season after an injury-plagued season in the professional WPS and after her contract with the Atlanta Beat was not continued. Bachmann joined German club VfL Wolfsburg on August 26, 2015, with an agreement that runs through 2018.
