Early Life and Childhood
Priyanka Reddy’s birth year is 1993 and her birthplace is Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Her age was just 26 years old before her death. She was an Indian by her nationality and Asian by her ethnicity. Her father, Sridhar Reddy is an employee at the Government Department, and her mother, Vijaya Reddy is a housewife. Moreover, she also has a sister whose name is Bhavya Reddy. The doctor spent her childhood in Shadnagar and was born to a Telugu family.
Regarding the doctor’s educational background, she attended P.V. Narasimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University and from there she completed her studies with a Doctorate in Veterinary Studies. From a very early age, Priyanka had an interest in animals and nature.

Priyanka Reddy – Death
On Thursday morning, she was dead with her body partially burnt under the Chatanpali bridge in Shadnagar. According to the police’s evidence, it was clear that Priyanka was raped, smothered, and then burnt by 4 men. The men were said to hail from Narayanpet. They were held up by the Cyberabad police on Friday. Their identifications are Mohammad Areef who was a driver, Jolla Naveen who was a cleaner, Chennakeshavulu who was also a cleaner, and Jollu Shiva who was a driver.
The police said that the criminals who were having alcohol at Shamshabad toll plaza were looking at Priyanka parking her scooter and were also making the plan to rape her. And one of them, Jolla Naveen punctured the rear wheel of Priyanks’s scooter. When the doctor got back to take her scooter at around 9:18 pm, she then realized that her scooter’s tires were punctured. The prime criminal Areef then went on the excuse of fixing the scooter. Then Jolla Shiva took her scooter, on the excuse of repairing the scooter, got back after a while, and said that the shops were not open.
The police stated that the accused then raped the doctor who died because of accused had covered her mouth and nose when committing the crime. Then, the four men wrapped her dead body in a blanket took it to Shadnagar, and burnt the body. Cyberabad police commissioner VC Sajjanar said, “Our officer took them into a patrol vehicle and scanned the CCTV footage. The victim was also present in the CCTV footage of the plaza. At around 3 pm, the family was brought back to book an official complaint. Till 5 am, we searched all puncture shops. The body was found at around 7 am”.

People’s response to her death
Her sister was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying about the police response, “We lost a lot of time moving from one police station to another. Had the police acted without wasting time, at least my sister would have been alive”. Speaking to The Times of India, the mother requested that the criminals be burnt alive in public. She said, “My daughter was very innocent. I want the accused to be burnt alive”.
Additionally, the National Commission for Women (NCW) demanded a separate discussion headed by a member of the commission. NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma called for strict action by the police and judiciary against the criminals. Sharma said, “It’s shameful if women cannot get security in a city like Hyderabad where women go in such large numbers to work from other areas of the country”.
Moreover, Telangana Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali resorted to victim-blaming, saying, “We’re saddened by the incident. Crime happens, but police are alert and controlling it. Unfortunately despite being educated she called her sister and not ‘100’”. The minister also said, “Had she called ‘100’, she could’ve been saved”, adding that help could have arrived within 3-4 minutes.
After the investigation
According to the DCP of Shamshabad, Prakash Reddy, the police had taken the criminals to the place where they had burnt Priyanka Reddy with the help of kerosene. Police officers together with the criminals went to the area and we are investigating what was happening at that time. There the criminals were trying to take his weapon and run away. He even shot at the police. Therefore, for self-defense, police began firing, which also took the lives of the 4 criminals. In conclusion, Sirbarabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar said the 4 criminals were killed in an encounter at Chatanpali in Shadnagar between 3 am to 8 am on Friday.
A senior police officer said 2 of the policemen got some injuries in the incident. After getting the good news of the encounter, Priyanka’s father said, ‘It has been 10 days since our daughter was killed. Congratulations to the Telangana government, the police, and the people who helped me. Likewise, Priyanka’s sister said, ‘All the accused were killed in the encounter. I’m so happy. This would be an example, hopefully not a repeat of this in the future. I want to thank the police and the Telangana government. There was a huge crowd of people was present there in the place where the police had charged the 4 criminals.
When the policeman and the Commissioner Gentleman reached the situation, people praised DCP-ACP Zindabad. The policeman was in the rain of flowers. The police station even welcomed the policeman with cracking firecrackers. Then, Telangana law minister A Indrakaran Reddy told a news channel, “God has punished the accused before the law. What has happened to them has made the whole of India happy. We have seen on TV that the accused was trying to escape with the police weapon. Well down”.

Priyanka was a veterinarian from Shadnagar town under the Hyderabad district in Telangana state of India country. She completed her studies in her hometown. She completed her higher studies in 2016. After she finished her education, she worked for a year under government officials. In the year 2018, Priyanka went to a veterinary hospital which is in Kolluru village. Apart from her career, her hobby was traveling.
