Pele was born on October 23, 1940, in Minas Gerais, Brazil. His age is 82 years old as of 2022 and his full name is Edson Arantes do Nascimento.

They had two daughters and one son: Kelly Cristina, Jennifer, and their son Edson but they divorced in 1982. Additionally, he was also romantically linked with TV presenter Xuxa from 1981 to 1986.

Furthermore, he married psychologist and gospel singer Assyria in April 1994, and she gave birth to twins Joshua and Celeste on September 28, 1996. However, in 2008, they got divorced. In addition, he had at least two more children from previous relationships.

Sandra Machado, who was born from his affair with a housemaid, Anizia Machado, in 1964, and daughters Octavio and Gabriel, who died in 2006. Similarly, he also had another daughter, Flavia Kurtz, from an extramarital affair with journalist Lenita Kurtz in 1968.

Later, he announced his intention to marry Marcia Aoki, a 41-year-old Japanese-Brazilian importer of medical equipment from Pentapolis, whom he had been dating since 2010. They first met in New York in the mid-1980s and reconnected in 2008 and they got married on July 9, 2016.

Health Issues

Talking about his recent health, the Football legend is in Albert Einstein Hospital and is undergoing treatment for colon cancer. His health is improving and is conscious without any new complications.

He posted on Instagram, saying, ” I want to keep everyone calm and positive thinking. I am strong and hopeful. Thank you for everything. I will follow my treatment as usual.”

Furthermore, he has been suffering from health problems in recent years and was diagnosed with colon cancer in September 2021. It is reported that he spent two weeks in the hospital last December.
