Pat Kelsey was born on May 15, 1975. His birth name is Patrick Kelsey. Presently, he is 48 years old and his sun sign is Taurus. He is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.

Pat is the current head men’s basketball coach at the College of Charleston. He is in his 9th season as head coach of the Eagle basketball program.
He previously had a long tenure as the head coach at Winthrop Univesity (2012-2021). Pat also served as an assistant for Xavier (2009-2012), Wake Forest (2004-2009), and Elder HS (1998-2001).
Besides his coaching, he is famous for his 2012 impassioned speech after the Sandy Hook school shooting incident in which 26 people were killed, including 20 children. In the year 2012, he was hired by Winthrop as their new head coach.

During his stint, this coach led the team to 4X Big South regular seasons in 2016, 2017, 2020, and 2021 as well as 3X Big South Tournaments in the years 2017, 2020, and 2021.
Moreover, he was named a finalist for the Jim Phelan Award (National Coach of the Year) and the Skip Prosser Man of the Year Award.
Pat Kelsey has coached several athletes who went on to have successful professional basketball careers including Jeff Teague, Chris Paul, James Johnson, Ish Smith, and Al-Farouq Aminu. Likewise, in 2021, this coach left Winthrop and joined the College of Charleston.
