Forde departed The Courier-Journal in 2004 to work full-time for ESPN after seven years of freelancing for their website.
Forde wrote a piece called “Forde Yard Dash” during the NCAA football season, and a column called “Forde Minutes” during the NCAA basketball season. He also made appearances on ESPN radio and TV.
Forde left ESPN on November 1, 2011, after his contract expired, to seek a career at Yahoo Sports. He resumed his weekly “Forde Yard Dash” piece there, as well as his “Forde Minutes” column later.
