Paddy Moloney was born in Dublin, Ireland on 1 August 1938. Paddy had an Irish nationality while his ethnicity is unknown. His zodiac sign was Leo.
Regarding his family background, He is the son of Irish Glass Bottle Company accountant John Moloney (Father) and homemaker Catherine (Mother). When he was six years old, his mother gave him a tin whistle, and when he was eight, he began studying the uilleann pipes.

Talking about his career, Moloney performed on the tin whistle, uilleann pipes, button accordion, and bodhrán. Seán Riada and Moloney initially spoke in the late 1950s. In 1960, he then joined Ceoltóir Chualann, Riada’s band.
In November 1962, Moloney founded the traditional Irish band the Chieftains in Dublin with Sean Potts and Michael Tubridy. As the band’s leader, he was primarily responsible for writing and arranging most of the Chieftains’ music.
He also provided the music for several movies, including Stanley Kubrick’s Barry Lyndon, The Grey Fox, Braveheart, and Gangs of New York.
Further, The Muppets, Mike Oldfield, Gary Moore, Sting, Don Henley, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, and Mick Jagger were among the artists for whom Moloney provided session work.
In 1959, he and Garech de Brn of Luggala (whose name has been anglicized to Garech Browne) formed Claddagh Records. He joined the company as a producer in 1968 and oversaw the creation of 45 albums.
