In the African Theatre Ensemble’s 2009 performance of Efua Sutherland’s The Marriage of Anansewa, she played the lead role.

She appeared on the Canadian TV show Flashpoint that same year as well. For her work in French Immersion, she received a nomination for Best Performance by a Female – Film at the 2012 Canadian Comedy Awards.

Adeliyi was referred to be “Shakespeare’s First Jamaican-Nigerian Lady Macbeth” when she performed the part at the Sterling Theatre in Toronto in 2014.

2017 saw Adeliyi take the lead role in the CBC sitcom Workin’ Moms.

Adeliyi once made headlines in 2017 for her actions. She was not allowed to bring her backpack inside the Toronto Kingsway Theatre, the location of the event.

Adeliyi’s denial of following the protocol led to the catastrophe. Police were eventually called as a result of her altercation with the theatre employees.

When the police arrived, the actress described the situation as demeaning, yet she was removed from the theatre. The proprietor of the theatre also accused her of abuse.
