Moreover, he rose to fame, after playing the role of Ben Sanderson in the drama film (Leaving Las Vegas.” The film is based on the semi-autobiographical 1990 novel of the same name by John O’Brien.

Charity
Besides being an actor, he is a philanthropist, he has donated $2 million to Amnesty International for them to use to offer rehabilitation shelter, medical services, and psychological and reintegration services to some of the 300,000 children forced to fight in conflicts across the world. Moreover, he donated about $1 million to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Legal issues
Christina Fulton sued Cage for $13 million and for the house in which she was living in December 2009. In June 2011, the case was settled. He was arrested in New Orleans’ French Quarter district for suspicion of domestic abuse battery, disturbing the peace, and public intoxication in April of 2011.
The policeman was flagged down by onlookers after Cage allegedly grabbed his wife’s upper arm while appearing to be under the influence of alcohol. The actor was held in police custody until a bail of $11,000 was posted by Duane “Dog” Chapman.
Later, Nicolas Cage was ordered to appear in court on May 31, 2011. On the 5th May 2011, The New Orleans District Attorney announced that the charges against Cage had been dropped.
