Nathaniel Direnzo who was 29 years old at the time, was arrested after he and two other dog-walkers got into an altercation with some school kids over the weekend in the year 2021. This incident occurred during the day. It reportedly started when the kids were throwing dirt and “poppers”. However, the argument escalated, and Nathaniel was taken into custody. Likewise, he was accused of attempting to strangle an 11-year-old girl during that dispute at a Manhattan park.
During the altercation, when the girl tried to fight back, Nathaniel grabbed her by the hair and punched her in the face. He then went on to wrap his hand around the girl’s neck trying to strangle her. She was immediately taken to the hospital as a result of her injuries. The girl’s classmate who was 15 years old tried to intervene once he saw the girl being attacked. But he was also allegedly hit by Direnzo. The boy was later treated for minor injuries on the scene by EMS.
Moreover, he was arraigned and released on $7,500 bail. He then was charged with second-degree strangulation, two counts of acting in a manner injurious to a child, second-degree harassment, and two counts of assault.

Apart from Altercation
Ironically, Direnzo had previously volunteered for a city nonprofit that helps children and young adults who have experienced trauma. He was a volunteer board member for the Lineage Project. This organization aims and helps to teach children how to cope with traumatic experiences. But, he was never an employee of the Lineage Project.
He even was not paid for his work as a volunteer board member. According to the co-executive Director of the organization whose name is Gabrielle Prisco, Nathaniel is no longer on the board of directors. He also previously was able to work for Congress and Politico and listed his interests as running and being “an unrepentant foodie”.
