When he was standing on camera, he used eggplant emoji to cover them. From there his name became Nasubi which means Eggplant in Japanese.

He set up himself as a local talent in Fukushima and a dramatic theatre performer, forming the stage group Eggplant Way. Then, the comedian starred in Densha Otoko, Atashinchi no Danshi, Trick, and Kamen Rider W as Watchman.
