Early Life
Narendra Modi was born on 17 September 1950 and his age is 73 years old. His full name is Narendra Damodardas Modi. Narendra is originally from Vadnagar, Bombay State, Republic of India. It is present-day Gujarat. Talking about his family, Narendra’s father was Damodardas Mulchand Modi and his mother was Hiraben Modi. His mother’s age is 96 years old. He is the 3rd child among six in his family.
Talking more about his family background, Modi belongs to the Modh-Ghanchi-Teli (oil-presser) community. The Indian government categorizes this community as one of the Other Backward Class (OBC). Politician Mayawati falsely accused Modi that he added his caste to the Other Backward Class (OBC) list as a political tool.
Regarding his educational journey, Narendra Modi completed his higher secondary education in Vadnagar in the year 1967. Modi is a vegetarian and teetotaler.

Professionally, Narendra Modi is a politician. Modi has served as the 14th and current prime minister of India since 2014. Before this, the current prime minister was the chief minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014. The politician is also a Member of Parliament for Varanasi. In 1975, Modi went into hiding during a state of emergency imposed across the country.
Besides being a remarkable politician, Modi is also an author. He published a Gujarati book, Jyotipunj, in the year 2008. This book contains profiles of various RSS leaders. The Prime Minister has also authored 8 other books. Most of his books contain short stories for children.
On 31 August 2012, Modi became the 1st Indian politician to interact with citizens on a live chat via Google Hangouts. Likewise, Narendra is also a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Subsequently, Modi is also a member of the party’s National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Further, Modi is a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). RSS is a Hindu nationalist volunteer organization. Modi had his introduction to the RSS at the young age of 8 years. After returning to Gujarat in 1971 after his travel around the country, Modi became a full-time worker for this organization. The RSS then assigned Modi to the BJP in 1985.

Modi is the 1st Indian PM born after the country’s independence in 1947. He is also the 2nd non-Congress politician to win two consecutive terms. The 1st Indian PM to hold this record was Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Moreover, Modi is also the 1st Indian PM from outside the Congress to win both terms with a majority in the Lok Sabha.

Modi’s administration revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir after his party’s victory in the 2019 general election. Moreover, his administration introduced the Citizenship Amendment Act. This resulted in widespread protests across the country.
