Early Life
Mona Kattan was born on the 8th of May 1985, in Tennessee, the United States. According to her birth date, she is currently 37 years old and has a birth sign of Taurus. She belongs to a mixed ethnicity and holds a dual nationality of American-Iraqi. Her full name is Mona Monica Kattan and practices Christianity religion.

She was born to an Iraqi mother Susu Al Qazzaz and an Iraqi father Ibrahim Kattan. Her father earned a job teaching in Dubai and her family shifted there in 2002. In addition, she grew up with three siblings –brother Khalid Kattan and sisters Huda Kattan, and Alya Kattan. Her sister Huda is a makeup artist and founder of the popular makeup brand Huda Beauty.
Mona Kattan – Education
She attended the Sharjah American International School and completed her early schooling. Later, she enrolled at the American University of Sharjah and completed her graduation in Finance.
Professional Career
Initially, Mona Kattan started working as a banker at the DBS Bank in Dubai. Then she ventured into the entrepreneurial arena, co-founding MasterMind PR & Communications with Mustafa Mahdi. Until May 2012, she was the managing partner of the PR section.
She co-founded The Dollhouse beauty salon in July 2012. She departed the business in October 2018 due to partnership issues.
With her sister, Alya, she co-founded the Huda Beauty. Their first beauty product, a series of fake eyelashes, was released through Sephora and was most famously worn by Kim Kardashian.
The company has expanded its products to eye shadow palettes, liquid lipsticks, lip liners, highlighter palettes, foundations, concealers, baking powders, and liquid eyeshadows.

TSG Consumer Partners acquired a minority investment in Huda Beauty in 2017, and the sisters founded HB Investments. They founded Huda Beauty Angels, a $10 million venture to support emerging beauty and wellness enterprises.
In November 2018, she co-founded Kayali Fragrances and became the face of a luxury fragrance. She unveiled new fragrances from the Geneva-based perfume brand Firmenich, including Elixir 11, Citrus 08, Musk 12, and Vanilla 28.
The number in each name represents the number of revisions made to the formula before the smell was finalized. The hashtag #EveryLayerofMe has helped the brand.
In January 2020, her fifth fragrance, Déjà Vu White Flower 57, launched. The following aroma combines jasmine, tuberose, patchouli, and gardenia with white nectarine, green pear, and sandalwood.
YouTube and Webseries
She launched her self-titled YouTube channel on 28 March 2007. On 14th February 2020, she released her first video titled “Welcome to Monaland! Finally, my first YouTube Video!” Mostly, she posts videos about makeup tutorials, and podcasts, and launches upcoming perfumes on her channel. As of February 2024, there are over 101k subscribers on her channel.
She starred in the web series ‘Huda Boss’ alongside her sister Huda, her husband Christopher Gonçalo, and Alya Kattan. From 2018 to 2019, the series ran for two seasons.

Having been involved in multimillion-dollar global businesses, she has a whopping net worth of $100 million to $200 million. Whereas, her earnings from Huda Beauty and Kayali Fragrances have been estimated to be between $50 to $60 million.
Relationship Status
On the 22nd of February 2022, Mona Kattan married her long-time boyfriend, Hassan El-Amin. The wedding ceremony was held at Dubai’s luxurious Raffles The Palm Hotel with their close friends and family. The couple went on a honeymoon at the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli, a five-star resort. Moreover, the couple couple first met in 2003.

Previously, she dated Dominic Nowell-Barnes. They got engaged in May 2019, and their breakup news was revealed by Mona Kattan in October 2019. However, both of them have not shared the reason behind the separation.
