In 2018, she was cast in the lead role of Nuri in the TV series “Love Is,” an Oprah Winfrey Network romantic drama series developed by Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil. The TV series is modelled on the Akils’ relationship, and it tells the narrative of a power couple navigating Black Hollywood.
On July 31, 2018, it was initially renewed for a second season, but on December 19, 2018, OWN overturned the decision and canceled the series after Salim Akil was accused of domestic abuse and copyright infringement.
In 2019, she starred in an episode of the Netflix anthology series “Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings,” alongside Delta Burke, Tim Reid, and Brooke Elliott. In 2020, she appeared on the short-lived NBC drama series “Council of Dads.
