Early Life
Bron as Michael Jonathon Slater, better known by the name Michael Slater. He was born on the 21st of February 1970 in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia. He is an Australian by nationality and is currently 54 years old.

During his school years, he was chosen for the state hockey teams at the Under-12, Under-13, Under-15, and Under-17 levels. When cricket and hockey began to overlap in his teenage years, he chose cricket and was named captain of the New South Wales Under-16 team.
However, due to injuries, he had to take a break from cricket. He made a comeback and was chosen for the Under-19 state team to compete in the national championships.
Professional Career
Michael Slater was a part of the Australian Cricket Academy before making his debut for New South Wales in 1991. Before making his debut for New South Wales in 1991, he was a member of the Australian Cricket Academy. Slater made his international test debut against England on June 3, 1993, when he was only 23 years old, during the Ashes tour of England.
He scored a half-century in his debut match, followed by a century at Lord’s. His strong play continued in subsequent matches. He made his ODI debut against South Africa on December 9, 1993, but did not fare well in the series.
With 623 runs in the 1994-1995 Ashes series, Slater was the series’ leading run-scorer. In the following season, he also scored his first double-century against Sri Lanka at the WACA in Perth. He scored the match-winning 123 runs against England in the 1998-1999 Ashes series, accounting for 66.84 percent of his team’s total.
Throughout his career, he was infamous for his proclivity for the “nervous nineties”: he was dismissed nine times out of 23. He was dropped from the team following the Oval Test during the 2001 Ashes tour.
In addition, he joined Nine’s Wide World of Sports cricket commentary team in January 2006, and in 2009, he was announced as a Sunday sports presenter for the Nine Network’s Weekend Today, where he remained until 2010. He has now established himself as a commentator and is a member of the Channel 9 commentary team. Similarly, he appeared as a contestant on the Australian version of Torvill and Dean’s Dancing on Ice, becoming the 4th contestant to be eliminated.
Arrested
Slater was arrested for domestic violence, stalking, and using a carrier service to harass his ex-wife on October 20, 2021. He was arrested by NSW Police on December 15, 2021, for allegedly violating an apprehended violence order (AVO).
Moreover, he got police bail and was released. On April 27, 2022, he is the subject of a new police investigation into an alleged domestic violence incident, just hours after having similar charges dismissed on mental health grounds.
Slater was arrested and charged with assault and stalking/intimidation on May 27, 2022, after police were called to a unit in Manly on April 26, 2022. He was escorted to Manly Police Station on July 18, 2022, and charged with breach of bail. Magistrate Megan Greenwood granted Slater bail and reminded him of the agreement’s strict terms.
Other charges
On August 31, 2022, he was charged with two new counts of common assault and one count of stalking or intimidating with the intent to cause physical or mental harm after allegedly assaulting a man in French Forest on Sydney’s northern beaches.
He was arrested on September 22, 2022, for allegedly violating bail. NSW Police have applied for an interim apprehended violence order to protect the woman he was with at the time of his arrest.
Similarly, he was convicted of domestic violence, using a carriage service to harass, stalk, or intimidate, and common assault at Manly Local Court on November 9, 2022.
Slater also had two counts of common assault and one for attempting to stalk or intimidate relating to an incident at a northern hospital in July dismissed on mental health grounds.
He was sentenced to two years in prison to be served in his community. Moreover, he was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer and two counts of obstructing police after a confrontation in Noosa Heads on March 31, 2023.

During his playing career, Slater has won a couple of awards and recognitions.
