Melanie Hamrick is an American choreographer, celebrity partner, and former ballerina at the ‘American Ballet Theatre.’ Melanie Hamrick is also famous for her relationship with Mick Jagger.
Early Life
Melanie Hamrick was born in the year 1987. She hails from Williamsburg, Virginia, USA. As of 2022, her age is 35 years old and her birth sign is missing as her exact birth date is missing. Her parents are John Hamrick and Anne Hamrick. Her father served as an engineering firm director and her mother is a housewife. Sadly, she lost her father in the year 2015. Melanie began her training at Chamber Ballet and continued her training at the Eastern Virginia School of the Performing Arts. Further, she was a scholarship student for five years at the University Ballet Academy (formerly known as the Kirov Academy of Ballet). There, she studied for five years.

Career
Melanie began her career as a professional ballet dancer with the summer accelerated programs at the ‘School of American Ballet.’ And, after serving at the institution for a few years, she joined the ‘American Ballet Theatre’ in September 2003. Similarly, in April 2004, she advanced in the industry by joining the ‘corps de ballet’ of the ‘American Ballet Theatre.’
Likewise, she also received her first dance contract at the age of 18, and it was a Balanchine ballet. She has also performed in several notable ballet routines for ABT since then. And, some of them are ‘Sylvia,’ ‘Les Sylphides,’ ‘The Sleeping Beauty,’ ‘Romeo and Juliet,’ ‘The Nutcracker,’ ‘Lady of the Camellias,’ and ‘Don Quixote.’ Also, she received praise for her featured roles in ballets like ‘From Here On Out,’ ‘Duets,’ ‘Gong,’ ‘Everything Doesn’t Happen at Once,’ ‘After You,’ and ‘AfterEffect’ (2015).

Melanie played a leading role in ‘Dark Elegies.’ Moreover, at ABT, all of her performances were sponsored by the real estate mogul Brian Fisher and his interior designer wife, Joanna. Melanie uses the ‘Refine Method’ for her training sessions. She made her choreography debut in April 2019, with ‘Porte Rouge’, which premiered at the ‘Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Therefore, it was based on the songs of the ‘Rolling Stones,’ the ballet was then performed at the YAGP gala at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts on April 18 and April 19, 2019. However, Melanie was not originally meant to feature in the Russian version of the sequence. But, Melanie had to perform after one of the main dancers got injured. And, it was her second stab at choreography after ABT rejected her first idea. She is the founder of ‘Live Arts Global.’

Previously, Melanie was engaged to the classical Cuban dancer, José Manuel Carreño. José proposed to her in May 2011. Melanie was quite open about her relationship and even posted the details of her romantic engagement on social media. Their wedding was supposed to take place on March 15, 2013, but the engagement was called off in 2014.
And, a few months after her breakup, she attended a ‘Rolling Stones concert in Japan. Melanie went backstage after the concert was over and met the band’s members. And, it was her first interaction with Mick Jagger. The two did not hit it off immediately, as Mick was seeing L’Wren Scott at that time. However, Mick’s partner, Scott committed suicide a few months after Mick and Melanie met.
And, just weeks after Mick lost his girlfriend, he was spotted with Melanie on a luxurious hotel’s balcony in Zurich. As per sources, their relationship had already started by then. Later, on December 8, 2016, they welcomed their son, Deveraux Octavian Basil Jagger. Deveraux is Mick’s eighth child and Melanie’s first child. Mick signed a bond pledging to bear all of Deveraux’s expenses until he turns 18. Likewise, he has also gifted a $7 million townhouse in New York City to Melanie.
