In 2008, Meghann Fahy started working as an actress for the local theater Arena Stage. Late in 2008, she gets to fill in for Jennifer Damiano as Natalie Goodman in the Arena Stage production of Next to Normal. She stayed with the cast as it moved to the Booth Theatre on Broadway, where previews started on March 27, 2009.
Together with Marin Mazzie as Natalie’s mother Diana and Jason Danieley as her father Dan, she took over as Natalie’s lead actor on July 19, 2010, replacing Damiano. Although she did not take part in that performance, it was revealed in December 2010 that she had been cast in readings of a stage adaption based on the 1992 Disney cult classic Newsies.
