Maxi Jazz is a late British musician, rapper, singer, songwriter, and DJ. Maxi Jazz rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the British electronic band “Faithless” from 1995 to 2011 and from 2015 to 2016.

Early Life

Born as Maxwell Fraser, known by his stage name Maxi Jazz was born on the 14th of June 1957, in Brixton, Lambeth, London, England. At the age of 65 years old, he passed away and held British nationality. He has a birth sign of Gemini while his ethnic background and religious beliefs are yet to be disclosed.

Faithless released several critically acclaimed albums, including “Reverence” (1996), “Sunday 8 PM” (1998), and “Outrospective” (2001), which spawned hit singles like “Insomnia,” “God Is a DJ,” and “We Come 1.”

His distinctive voice and his ability to infuse spirituality and social commentary into his lyrics set him apart as a frontman. His powerful performances and collaborations with other artists further solidified his reputation as a dynamic and influential figure in the music scene.

From 1995 until 2011, he performed and recorded with Faithless. In 2015 and 2016, he rejoined the group under the Faithless 2.0 banner. His final live performance with the band was on August 31, 2016, at Ibiza Rocks.

In addition to his work with Faithless, Maxi has also collaborated with various artists and musicians on solo projects. He released his debut solo album, “Maxi Jazz & The E-Type Boys,” in 2005, showcasing his versatility as a musician beyond the electronic music realm.

On October 20, 2018, he appeared on stage as part of the Gatecrasher Classical event at Sheffield Arena, which celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Gatecrasher brand. He contributed vocals to the Vintage Culture single “Commotion” in 2022.
