San Franciso 49ers
Matt Breida’s professional career began when he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the San Francisco 49ers following the 2017 NFL Draft. In his rookie season with the 49ers in 2017, he emerged as a valuable backup to starting running back Carlos Hyde. He played in all 16 games, rushing for 465 yards and 2 touchdowns while also contributing as a receiver with 21 receptions for 180 yards.
In 2018, his role expanded as he became the primary running back for the 49ers. Despite battling through various injuries, he had a productive season, accumulating 814 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground. He also caught 27 passes for 261 yards and 2 touchdowns. His final season with the 49ers was in 2019. He split playing time with fellow running backs Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman.
