Martina Stoessel is a multi-talented singer, songwriter, actress, dancer, and model from Argentina. Martina Stoessel rose to fame after playing the lead role as Violetta Castillo in the Disney Channel Latin America original telenovela, “Violetta.”

Early Life

Martina Stoessel was born on the 21 March 1997, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is also nicknamed Tini and holds Argentine nationality. Her birth sign is Aries and is currently 26 years old as of 2023. She follows the Christian religion and belongs to a mixed ethnicity of German-Spanish ethnicity.

The names of her parents are Alejandro Stoessel and Mariana Muzlera. Her father is a producer and a director of the dancing show Baila Conmigo Paraguay. She was raised with her elder brother Francisco Stoessel.

Martina Stoessel appeared in a minor role in the comedy series for kids named “PatitoFeo” (Ugly Ducking) which aired in 2007. Moreover, her father was among one of the creators of the show.

She began recording Spanish versions of English songs in 2011 and 2012, including Shannon Saunders’ ‘The Glow,’ which was titled ‘Tu Resplandor’ in Spanish. In 2012, she auditioned for and was cast as Violetta Castillo in “Violetta,” Disney’s children’s comedy show.

‘En Mi Mundo’ (In My World) was her promotional song and title tune for the program. She also recorded the song in two more languages. Moreover, she has always claimed that portraying Violetta was simple because she modeled the role after herself.

She has also recorded the soundtrack for all three seasons of her program “Violetta.” Later, she reprised the character in the series’ sequel film “Tini: The Movie” (2016).

She rose to prominence in 2013 by recording the song ‘Let It Go’ from Disney’s successful animated film “Frozen” in two languages: Spanish and Italian. The Spanish version, ‘Libre Soy,’ has almost 200 million views. She provided the voice of a minor character named Carrie Williams in the dubbed Italian version of Pixar’s animated film “Monster University” in 2014.

In 2017, she appeared in guest roles as herself in “Soy Luna” and “Las Estrellas.” The next year, she appeared as a coach/ judge in the second season of “La Voz… Argentina.” She provided her voice to the character Moxy in the 2019 musical adventure-comedy film “UglyDolls” in Spanish dubbed version.

Singing Career

Stoessel released her self-titled studio album (2016) after signing with Hollywood Records. In less than two months, the album sold over 100,000 copies worldwide, reaching No. 1 in Argentina and the top ten in other European nations.

She rose to prominence in Hispanic countries with her next album, “Quiero Volver” (2018), which topped the Argentine albums chart, becoming her second No. 1 album in the country, and “Tini Tini Tini” (2020), which received double diamond certification by the CAPIF for selling over 500,000 digital copies in Argentina alone.

“Cupido” (2023), her fourth album, debuted at number 45 on the US Top Latin Albums and number eight on the US Latin Pop Albums, making her first entry on the Billboard albums list. Cupido was preceded by the lead track “Miénteme,” which gave her first Billboard Argentina Hot 100 No. 1. “Bar” and “La Triple T” came after.

The songs also peaked on the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. US, making Stoessel the first female Argentine artist to attain such success. The album also yielded three top 25 Billboard Latin Pop Airplay entries: “Maldita Foto”, “La Loto”, and “Cupido.”

Martina received the Kids’ Choice Award Argentina in the Best Female Newcomer category for her work in the TV series ‘Violetta’ in 2012. In 2013, she garnered two nominations for her role as Violetta in the Favorite TV Actress and Favorite Latin Artist categories at the Kids’ Choice Awards.

That same year, she received the Premios Martin Fierro award for Violetta in the category of Female Newcomer. In 2014, she was named Female Newcomer at the Colombian Kids’ Choice Awards for “Violetta.”

In 2016, she was nominated for the MTV Europe Music Awards in the category of Best Latin America South Act. Her debut solo album, “Tini,” released in 2016, topped the charts in Argentina and was in the Top 10 in other countries, including Austria, Italy, Germany, and Portland. She appeared on the cover of the ‘Trinity Stars’ magazine.
