Chris traveled to a hotel in Glendale, California, after leaving work early on December 27, 2018. He then had sexual relations with a male companion. He allegedly slipped a meth stone inside his rectum twice as they were getting pumped up.
Burrous felt ill and passed out as a result. His companion dialed 911, but the anchor died on the way to the hospital. Chris died as a result of a heroin overdose, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner on February 22, 2019. The autopsy findings confirmed that he died as a result of methamphetamine intoxication.
