However, he later joined the Department of Sales and Marketing as per his interest. Following this path, he also worked as an assistant sales manager in the Philadelphia district in 1956.
He was a national hero for launching the 56 for 56 campaign. It mainly offered loans and down payment options on models of 1956-year cars.
Following his dedication, and commitment to work, he also became vice president of Ford’s car and truck group in 1960 and also became executive vice-president in 1967.
The success graph just rose higher and higher when also became the president of the Ford Corporation in 1970. But, after having a heated relationship with Henry Ford II, he was fired from the company in 1978.
After being fired from Ford, he joined Chrysler Corporation. At that time, the company was near bankruptcy. But as a president, he went on to change things for the company.
