Lauren Cho also known as Lauren “El” Cho was born on the 20th of December 1990. She was born in Kyungpook National University Hospital, South Korea. Moreover, she belongs to the Korean-American ethnicity and holds American nationality.

Professional Career
Lauren Cho was a music teacher at a high school in Irvington Township, New Jersey. And, she served as a section leader in a church choir in New Jersey. She previously worked as an apprentice at her friend Len Gherardi’s tattoo studio Diamond Heart Studios in Flemington, New Jersey. However, she left her job as a music teacher over the winter of 2020, and joined her friend, Cody Orell, on a cross-country road trip.
She had met Orell on Memorial Day and joined his trip with the goal of operating a food truck when they arrived at Bombay Beach, California, their final destination. By June 2021, Cho was employed as the private chef for Tao Ruspoli’s “The Whole” Airbnb property, located outside of Joshua Tree National Park between Yucca Valley and Morongo Valley.
Missing news
The housekeeper at the Airbnb where Lauren Cho worked stated that both Cho and Orell had started drinking earlier in the day and had gotten into a fight when Orell wouldn’t let Cho leave on his own. Orell claimed that when he went inside the bus at around 3 o’clock, Cho became upset and left without her phone, food, or water. He searched with some friends for Cho and around 5:13 he called the local sheriff’s office for help.
Cho’s tracks reportedly were never discovered by the initial search party, and the search party’s tracks were the only ones discovered by responding law enforcement. As Cho had been arranging to meet a puzzler later in the week, this made Orell believe that Cho got into a car with someone.
She was leaving the spot where she was staying when she was last spotted. Moreover, she was last spotted near Benmar Trail and Hoopa Road, off of California State Route 62, dressed in a yellow T-shirt and jean shorts.
Investigation
Police and rescue teams conducted a foot search of the area, using K9 teams as well. Fixed-wing aircraft were used to search the area from the air. The Morongo Basin Sheriff’s station informed reporters that the search for Cho had been ongoing ever since she vanished and that the sheriff’s helicopter and members of the search and rescue team still believed she had voluntarily gone missing because there was no sign of wrongdoing.
In September 2021, the Morongo Basin Station received help from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Specialized Investigations division in the search for Cho. In an effort to raise awareness of Cho’s disappearance, Orell and her friends posted flyers about missing people around Bombay Beach and used social media to spread Cho’s missing poster.
During their search for Cho on October 9, 2021, investigators discovered unidentified human remains in the rough terrain of the wide-open desert of Yucca Valley. Investigators determined those remains belonged to Cho on October 28, 2021. As of the announcement date, toxicology results were still being analyzed to determine the cause and manner of death.
