Holmes moved all in with K Q on the 223rd hand of the final table on a board of 10 7 2 K 9 and Aldemir called with 10 7 to win the tournament with two pairs.[8] With the victory, he surpassed $20 million in career earnings and rose to the fourth spot in terms of earnings in Germany.

Moreover, Aldemir placed third in the Player of the Year competition at the 2022 WSOP. He also made another deep run in the main event, finishing 75th out of 8,663 players to defend his title. With 15,328 players eliminated over the course of the combined 2021–2022 main events, he established a record for the most players eliminated in a row in main events.
