Early Life
Kim Jennie was born on January 1, 1996, in Cheongdam-Dong, Seoul, South Korea. She is 26 years old and her sun sign is Capricorn.
Her father is known to be the owner of a hospital and her mother works in association with the Korean media company, ‘CJ E&M’.
At the age of eight, Jennie moved to New Zealand with her family. She did her higher education at ‘ACG Parnell College’. After high school, she moved back to South Korea with her family,

Educational Qualification
Kim Jennie moved to New Zealand with her family at a young age. In New Zealand, she did her intermediate schooling. She went to Waikowhai Intermediate School in Auckland.
She moved back to Korea after completing her higher education at ‘ACG Parnell College’. As soon as moved back home, she was signed by ‘YG Entertainment’. In Korea, Jennie attended Cheongdam Middle School and Chungdam High School.
Career and Professional Life
Beginning career
Jennie got into the K-pop industry in August 2016. At the age of 14, Jennie was signed by ‘YG Entertainment’.
While still a trainee, in 2013, Jennie featured with her label mate G-Dragon on his song ‘Black’ and performed on stage at the TV show Inkigayo. Likewise, she has also featured in the song “Special’ for her label mate Lee Hi’s debut album First Love. The same year she also featured as the vocalist on Seungri’s song for his EP.
Blackpink debut
Kim Jennie’s group ‘Blackpink’s’ debut was planned even before 2012. She was revealed as the final debuting member on June 29, 2016, to the world. Together with her bandmates Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose, Jennie made her debut on August 8, 2016, with their first album ‘Square One’.

One of their song ‘Whistle’ became the number-one hit on ‘Gaon Digital Chart’ and the Music Video became viral on YouTube. They won over the world overnight and even became the highest-rated female brand on the ‘Billboard Social 50’.
Jennie and her group reached the highest peak of her career with the release of their single ‘As If It Last’ on June 22, 2017. The song debuted on the ‘Billboard World Digital Song chart. They had no choice but to continue without stopping. Likewise, they made their debut in Japan on August 30, 2017.

In October 2018, Jennie announced her solo debut. And on November 12, 2018, Jennie released her debut single “Solo”, which made her the first member of Blackpink to debut as a solo artist.

Kim Jennie’s company ‘YG’ is known to have strict rules and regulations. However, Jennie has become entangled in many controversies. The first one is from an episode of a comedy variety show ‘Knowing Bros’. Her reply to one of the cast members seemed very offensive and rude, however, she never reacted to the backlash.
She became a topic of a scandal where fans bombarded her with being lazy and lacking enthusiasm and passion. Jennie had disappointed many of her fans at the ‘Kakao Games 2018 Year-End party’ on December 6th.
