Corcoran’s mother, Kathleen McKenney, was a native of Quincy, Massachusetts, like her husband. Kevin Corcoran had a total of seven siblings, Donna Corcoran, Noreen Corcoran, Hugh Corcoran, Brian Corcoran, Kerry Corcoran, and Kelly Corcoran.

Another brother Bill Corcoran Jr. died in 2007. Donna, Noreen, and Hugh Corcoran had extensive film and television credits as children in the 1950s.

At the age of sixty, Corcoran was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. On October 6, 2015, he died of this illness at the age of 66. The Neptune Society cremated his remains, and his ashes were scattered into the Pacific Ocean ten days later.
