Early Life and Childhood
Kelsea Ballerini was born as Kelsea Nicole Ballerini on September 12, 1993, in Mascot, Tennessee. She is the only child of her parents. Her father, Ed is a former sales manager for a country radio station, and her mother, Carla has worked in marketing for Thomas Nelson Bible Publication and also for Sponsorship Company. She began attending dance lessons at Premiere Dance Studio in Seymour at the age of three and continued for the next ten years. She wrote her first song at 12 for her mother and after three years, moved to Nashville, Tennessee. Furthermore, to give her mother a gift, she wrote a song about her. On September 6, 2019, Kelsea Ballerini created the first single off her upcoming third album, titled ‘Homecoming Queen?’. The song debuted at number 22 on the Country Airplay chart, making it her highest debut on the chart to date.
She confirmed on January 20, 2020, about her self-titled album (Kelsea) and it was released on March 20, 2020. On February 28, she again released the single “Hole in the Bottle” (stylized in all lowercase) and announced the tracklist for her including “Half of My Hometown” highlighting Kenny Chesney and “The Other Girl” featuring Halsey.
